E.P.KAMAT GROUP COMMITTED TOWARDS SUSTAINABILITY WITH SDG’S

The literal meaning of Sustainability is meeting our own needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

This cannot be achieved over a night as it takes years of practice to achieve Sustainability.

Hence, with an objective to produce a set of universal goals that meet the urgent environmental, political and economic challenges facing our world, The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were born at the United Nations Conference in 2012.

These goals are devised as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030.

There are 17 SDGs that are integrated—that is, they recognize that action in one area will affect outcomes in others, and that development must balance social, economic and environmental sustainability.

As far as E.P.Kamat Group is concerned, it has always ensured and contributed immensely through their products towards a sustainable future not only at local level but also global level.

Although these 17 goals are integrated, the major goals that E. P. Kamat is focusing on are as follows:

Clean water and sanitation

More and more countries are experiencing water stress, and increasing drought and desertification is worsening the trend.

Hence, safe and affordable drinking water for all by 2030 requires that we invest in adequate infrastructure, provide sanitation facilities, and encourage hygiene to protect and restore water-related ecosystems is essential.

Industry, innovation and infrastructure

Investment in infrastructure and innovation are crucial drivers of economic growth and development.

Technological progress is also a key to finding lasting solutions to both economic and environmental challenges, such as providing new jobs and promoting energy efficiency. Promoting sustainable industries, and investing in scientific research and innovation, are all important ways to facilitate sustainable development.

Therefore, bridging this digital divide is crucial to ensure equal access to information and knowledge, as well as foster innovation and entrepreneurship is a must.

Sustainable cities and communities

Sustainable development cannot be achieved without significantly transforming the way we build and manage our urban spaces.

Making cities sustainable means creating career and business opportunities, safe and affordable housing, and building resilient societies and economies. It involves investment in public transport, creating green public spaces, and improving urban planning and management in participatory and inclusive ways.

In conclusion, in another ten years, the goal is to become sustainable in every sector and E.P. Kamat Group is definitely on the leading side.
